Adrien Roberts as Countess
Le nozze di Figaro
Center Stage Opera (CA)

Adrien Roberts recently made her role debut as Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro with Center Stage Opera (CA) in February 2009, and quickly reprised the role with the San Francisco Bay Area's Open Opera in July 2009. She looks forward to performing the role of Adina in The Elixir of Love with Orange County Opera in 2009-2010, and is also honored to create the role of Angelique in the world premiere of the new opera, Marie's Orchard by composer Philip Westin and librettist Dylan F. Thomas.  In the 2007-2008 season, she sang the role of Frasquita in Center Stage Opera's concert presentation of Bizet's Carmen, and she returned to CSO to cover the role of Gilda and sing the role of Giovanna in Verdi's Rigoletto in June 2008.  She recently performed as a member of the Opera Pacific Chorus in their highly acclaimed production of Floyd's Susannah, and she also performed the role of Marie in The Bartered Bride with Celestial Opera.

In 2006, Ms. Roberts sang the roles of Giulietta in Verdi's Un Giorno di Regno with Lyric Opera of Los Angeles, and Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with Opera Nova in Santa Monica. In March 2007, she sang the role of Violetta in La traviata with Center Stage Opera, and in September 2007, she returned to CSO to perform the role of Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.

Ms. Roberts has performed the roles of Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro and Pepita in the world premiere of The Bridge of San Luis Rey. She was a participant in OperaWorks Summer Intensive Program, as well as The California Music Festival.

Two months after receiving her Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music, Ms. Roberts was in a car accident that injured her larynx. Four years later and after much physical therapy, she defied doctors' predictions and found her voice again.  In 2006, she returned to the stage in Manon Lescaut with Lyric Opera of Los Angeles.  She then sang Eva in the quintet from Die Meistersinger with Venice Opera, and participated in the choruses of Hansel and Gretel with El Dorado Opera, and La Traviata with Redlands Festival Opera. Ms. Roberts earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Chapman University.

". . . voice is wonderfully rich and warm."
